Imperfect Action Over Inaction 🌱 Earth Day - April 2025 Today, our students took a small but meaningful step by advocating for a new wildflower garden, which will support biodiversity, pollinators, and a greener future. Change doesn’t have to be perfect to matter; it just has to begin. 🌼🌍

From the UK to Mexico City in 60 minutes!Nine of our Year 10, 12 and 13 Scientists and Geographers took part in the incredible ‘Golden Box’ experience at Wellington College. They spent a full hour in a live, immersive link-up with environmental speakers in Mexico City to discuss the climate crisis. Our students learned, spoke, and debated themes of climate change, gaining a first-hand perspective on how environmental shifts are affecting communities thousands of miles away. 🌎✨ A brilliant day of exploration and global connection! #GoldenBox #ClimateAction #SchoolTrip #Geography #STEM

Mock COP
On 30th September, Edgbarrow attended a Mock COP event at Wellington College. The event included delegations from local schools, representing 16 countries. Each group gave a one-minute opening statement about their country's stance on climate change. This was followed by an exercise on adaptation and mitigation strategies, countries being held accountable for high carbon emissions, and global solutions.
We had 6 students in the Brazil delegation, with Faris (Year 13) delivering a strong opening statement, acknowledging Brazil’s shortcomings in climate policy while also highlighting the nation's significant progress. The team handled questions excellently and made us all very proud, dealing with some challenging topics posed by other countries.
Edgbarrow also took part in the “Wellington Resolution”, where ideas shared by students at the event will be shared globally at the real COP 30 event in Brazil next month.
If your son or daughter is interested in joining these projects, encourage them to attend our sustainability group, which meets every Tuesday after school in H2. By joining, students will actively contribute to improving the school’s environment and gain opportunities to be involved in meaningful sustainability events and initiatives.
